Congratulations to Ellie and Raimond!

Congratulations to my daughter, Gabrielle, on her silver medal in the 2013 USHJA Children's Jumpers Championships, held June 19 - 23 at the Georgia International Horse Park, in Conyers, Georgia.  In  six rounds of competition over fences between 1.15m and 1.20m in height, they only had one rail down in five days of competition.  Pretty fabulous, if you ask me!

The Championships took place on the Grand Prix field, built for the 1996 Olympic Games.  The entire venue was spectacular.

It's a red, white, blue theme for the month of June.  Stars, stripes and fun 'Sweet Liberty' themed table decor.  Great projects for July 4th, Memorial Day, Veterans Day or flag day.

The template of the month is the "Simply Starry" favor box.

Shabby Post Card

Okay, I don't know what my most favorite part of this card is!  For a semi-complicated card, this one put itself together pretty quickly.  I will say, however, that I had to get up in the middle of the night to put the Crisp Cantaloupe Boutique Details embellishment on.  I knew that the card was a little too modal, but I couldn't figure out how to fix it.  Picking out the Crisp Cantaloupe pretty was just the right note to set the whole card off!

You may not be able to see it, but the "I like loving you" sentiment, the stamp  and the larger outer layer are printed on a subtle Pistachio Pudding/Vanilla pattern from the Venetian Romance dsp.  I think that it gives a lot of texture to the whole composition.

All products are SU!, unless otherwise noted.

Stamps:  Post Card, Lovely Romance, Postage Due, En Francais

Paper:  Vanilla, Early Espresso, Venetian Romance dsp

Ink:  Basic Brown, Crisp Cantloupe, Calypso Coral, Cajun Craze, Pistachio Pudding, Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede

Accessories:  Big Shot, Apothecary Accents, Ticket-Corner punch, Postage Stamp punch, brads, Antique brads, In-Color Boutique Details, Pistachio Pudding stretch ribbon, Aquapainter, Dimensionals, sponges

Tea Party and Afternoon Picnic dsp!

Here's my first attempt with some of the new catalog items.  I really like the Afternoon Picnic dsp, the Tea Party set and the Chevron ribbon.  The only problem with the ribbon is that the chevrons create an optical illusion -- it looks narrower at one end.  I measured the width and it's the small size all the way across!

I'm not sure about the paper bow, though.  It was the first one that I've tried and it seems a little stiff.

Congratulations Graduates!

I've had a bunch of high school graduation announcements come in the mail lately, so I thought that I'd take a couple of free hours to make some graduation cards.  This was a pretty simple card to put into a "production line."  I love the World Spectacular dsp, as well as the Blue Ribbon set, so this was a natural!  I used an image from Word Play for the inside sentiment.

All products used are SU!, unless otherwise noted.

Stamps:  Blue Ribbon, Word Play

Paper:  Vanilla, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, World Spectacular dsp, Champagne Glimmer paper

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo

Accessories:  Big Shot, Labels framelits, Ticket-Corner punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches, Rhinestone jewels, brads, Aquapainter, sponges

Fine Feathers

This project started out as just the piece of peacock colored Soho Subway dsp.  It was so beautiful and I wanted to work up a project that showcased it.  I wish that you could see the gold shimmer on the feather -- it's really pretty IRL!  I sprayed it liberally with gold Smooch spray and did some highlighting with the gold Smooch accent ink.
