There won't be much going on here at PG40stamps until mid-July or so. I'll be off in State College, Pennsylvania, for a 13-day long horse show series with my daughter. After we get back from there, I'll be off down in Lexington, Virginia with my own mare at a 4-day show.

A brief hiatus....
There won't be much going on here at PG40stamps until mid-July or so. I'll be off in State College, Pennsylvania, for a 13-day long horse show series with my daughter. After we get back from there, I'll be off down in Lexington, Virginia with my own mare at a 4-day show.
A Father's Day Card
This is a pretty simple card, but it has considerable punch, IRL! I layered Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Dusty Durango and sheets from the Razzleberry Lemonade ds. I stamped the fish on with Staz-on to give it a little extra oomph. The pine needles are from the Autumn Harvest rub-ons.

Tailored Vintage
I stole the color scheme from the new Nouveau Chic ds from the new catty -- I can't wait to get that one! I started from the center on this card with the clock face and the wheat -- I thought that would make an evocative image -- then I started layering.
After the torn Sage Shadow layer, it felt like I needed the crisp layered edges of the Black and Going Gray. I don't know why; it shouldn't work, but it does IRL.
The torn Sage Shadow layer is stamped with En Francais and the edges sponges with Sage Shadow. The Going Gray layer is also stamped with En Francais and sponged with GG. The central image is overstamped with Canvas in Going Gray and the spatter from Itty Bitty Backgrounds in both Sage Shadow and Going Gray.
Stamps: Autumn Days, Canvas, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, En Francais, Sense of Time, Happy Everything
Paper: Sage Shadow, Black, White, Going Gray
Ink: Sage Shadow, Going Gray
Accessories: Brads, black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, sponges, pieces from Antique Pewter HPH

Not entirely sure about this color combination, but the Melon Mambo really pops IRL. It does, however, make the Soft Suede look very khaki-ish.
I layered Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, a sheet from the Lovely Flowers ds and accents of Melon Mango. The Crushed Curry layer was stamped with Aida in CC and the edges sponged with Soft Suede. The central image is stamped with the spatter pattern of Itty Bitty Backgrounds in Soft Suede and the edges are also sponged with SS.
I flipped the Soft Suede polka-dot ribbon and used the white Urban West rub-ons on the plain side. The flowers were embossed on Shimmery White cs with white detail ep and I used the watercolor roses technique to color them.
Stamps: Flower Lines, Aida, Happy Harmony, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Paper: Shimmery White, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Melon Mango, Lovely Flowers ds
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mango, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede
Accessories: White ep, mini library clip, dimensionals, brads, sponges, Urban West rub-ons, aquapainter
Techniques: shimmery watercolor roses

Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede!
Can I just say one more time how much I love the new In Colors??
This was a really quick card, just to try out an idea that I had with Autumn Days, one of the new pre-order sets. The little cut-out leaves were a total after thought, but I like them.
I layered Soft Suede, Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry. The Crushed Curry layer is stamped with Canvas in CC and the edges are sponged in Dusty Durango. I masked the sun onto the central image, then sponged Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango and Soft Suede. The wheat is stamped in on-and-off Soft Suede. It is all overstamped with Canvas in Sahara Sand and the spatter from Itty Bitty Backgrounds in Close to Cocoa.
The pheasant was stamped in Chocolate Chip craft ink on Dusty Durango cs and clear embossed.
Stamps: Autumn Days, Canvas, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Paper: Vanilla, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry
Ink: Craft ink: Chocolate Chip. Classic inks: Close to Cocoa, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Sahara Sand
Accessories: vintage brads, Dusty Durango polka-dot ribbon, dimensionals, sponges
Burmuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo!
I'm loving the new In Colors!! Don't the names -- Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Dusty Durango -- just roll off you tongue? Very evocative!
The new polka-dot grosgrain ribbons are totally fabulous, too. They're printed on only one side, but the back is the usual beautiful grosgrain, so it looks great either way.
I'm not allowed by Stampin Up! to tell you details of what is in the new catalog, but suffice it to say that it's FABULOUS! I cannot wait until July 1 to place an order!
This is my first card using one of the new preorder sets, Circle Circus. I had a hard time with this, but am getting some new ideas together. I do wish that I'd used the Burmuda Bay ribbon instead of the Melon Mambo, though. Oh well, maybe next time!
I layered Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and a sheet from the Razzleberry Lemonade ds. At the four corners and the center of the "flower" are rhinestone brads.
SU sets: Circle Circus, Happy Everything
SU cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Razzleberry Lemonade ds, white
SU inks: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Rhinestone brads, aquapainter, pieces from Styled Silver HPH, Melon Mambo polka-dot grosgrain ribbon (love this!)
