A Royal Summons!

I worked this card up for this week's Crafty Secrets challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I really love the intricacy of these Alice in Wonderland images! The challenge was to use only one stamp set; however, the image was so detailed that it was too much have do a patterned background.  I liked the cleanliness of only using the Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions folder.  The Queen's heart is filled in with red Fine Galaxy Stampin' Glitter.

Stamps:  Greetings from Wonderland

Paper:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Vanilla

Ink:  Black, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Riding Hood Red, Cherry Cobbler, Summer Sun, More Mustard, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel

Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Polka-Dot Textured Impressions folder, glimmer brads, Cherry Cobbler seam binding, Early Espresso 1/8" tafetta ribbon, Dimensionals, Fine Galaxy Stampin' Glitter, Dimensionals, Aquapainter, white gel pen

Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge #193

Okay, I'm squeaking Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee in under the wire for this week's Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge.  I always like the sketches that the Operator's come up with, but this one is special -- I love a square card!  Go over and check it out for yourself -- there are some gorgeous samples this week.

I used two designs from last years' Urban Oasis dsp for the ribbon layer, as well as using the Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions folder on textured Crumb Cake for the larger layer.  I really love the look of the textured card stock in conjunction with the embossing folder.

Stamps:  Greetings From Wonderland

Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, Vanilla, textured Crumb Cake, Urban Oasis dsp

Ink:  Black, Crumb Cake, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Blush Blossom, Cameo Coral

Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions folder, Scalloped corner and border punches, Adornments, Early Espresso 5/8" satin ribbon, Marina Mist 3/8" taffeta ribbon, metallic brads, Dimensionals, sponges, Aquapainter

Yet another Creative Crew card using the Woodland Walk dsp!

One of this month's Creative Crew challenges was a color focus using SU!'s Woodland Walk dsp as a guide (Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip).  I've never been a fan of either Garden Green OR Wild Wasabi, but I have to admit that I really like this color combination!  The earth tones really ground them the brighter greens.

I think that the stars of this card are the shabby, distressed scallop trim down the center and the sentiment.  I love doing the peeling wallpaper with the First Edition dsp.

Stamps:  Peace Within, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Paper:  Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, Woodland Walk dsp, First Edition dsp

Ink:  Black, Creamy Caramel, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum, Concord Crush, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red

Accessories:  Small Scallop Oval punch, Small Oval punch, Scallop border punch, Early Espresso satin ribbon, Wild Wasabi stitched poly ribbon, sponges, Aquapainter, Dimensionals

Creative Crew CCREW0311DF

One of this month's Creative Crew challenges was a color focus using SU!'s Woodland Walk dsp as a guide (Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip).  I've never been a fan of either Garden Green OR Wild Wasabi, but I have to admit that I really like this color combination!  The earth tones really ground them.

Since this month's challenges were all about 'going green', I thought that my favorite little Knobbly Gnomes would be the perfect images to use with this earthy combination.    I used Riding Hood Red in the Gnome's boots and the paper rose to add some punch to this card.  As always, my favorite paper rose video tutorial can be found at Melanie Schulenberg's fabulous blog, Pockets of Inspiration -- check it out!
